林黛玉告别父亲，千里迢迢来至荣国府的外祖母家，遇见了表兄贾宝玉，两个玉儿情投意合，互为知己。宝玉和黛玉偷读西厢，明了彼此的心意；之后宝玉当面驳斥薛宝钗，在袭人面前为黛玉正名；因金钏一事，公子哥饱受一顿毒打，惹来祖母、姐妹的关心。更因一次误会，令黛玉上演葬花一幕。宝玉迷茫中道出心事，却为袭人得知。袭人将之诉于王夫人，王熙凤献出偷梁换柱的调包计，假借林姑娘之名让宝玉娶宝钗为妻。这边厢，锣鼓喧天共贺新人；那边厢，林姑娘泪尽心死魂归太虚。

“What makes Einleitung, in the words of its authors, a ‘film of agitation’, is perhaps the order in which it exposes things, the time it takes to restitute these images for what they are: images taken from the point of view of U.S. power, taken on the other side. This consists in cleansing the images of any sense of déjà vu, making them produce (sweat out, reveal, chase) the power which willed them into being and which wants us not even to find them surprising. From that moment, the horror is no longer the eternal return of the same in the guise of the same old thing (retro style) but the intolerable present (Holger Meins, 1975).” Serge Daney

本片以电影剧照、电影宣传照、导演工作照和演员照片等引来夸张搞笑的动画，道尽一部优秀电影的出炉是何其艰难，其中的一把辛酸泪只有电影人自己才知。 　　编剧要通过不断地与稍纵即逝的灵感做斗争，才能写出自己和导演都满意的剧本；可是他们满意的剧本，相关审查部门总能找出各种各样的问题，于是最终到达他们手上的剧本，可能已与原来的大相径庭；之后，导演开始与摄影师、美工、场记等人员一遍遍地沟通，敲定细节，找寻合适的演员；拍摄中，问题会一个接一个出现，有些镜头要重复拍摄许多次；拍完剪完，要再送有关部门审查，如果他们提出修改意见，有些镜头必须重拍；好不容易电影上映了，该电影的所有工作人员又要忐忑不安地等待观众的检验。
